Review 2025: Lebanese-Palestinian restaurant in Holborn, with emphasis on the Palestinian part (last time I went in the mid 2010s it was marketed purely as a Lebanese place). Booked a celebratory dinner gathering for a close one with approximately 15 people in Feb 2025 at very short notice. The server and team pulled out all the stops to secure a space for us and make sure it would be a very memorable and smooth dinner, including faultlessly taking all our orders in his head and lighting/bringing a cake that we’d brought . Of particular note was the chef’s special, the Palestinian maklouba (maqluba), a delicately spiced layered upside down rice pilaf with chicken leg, fried cauliflower, potato and aubergine, theatrically served table side by turning the pot upside down (to his credit, our server did this for all six of these with exactly the same vigour and energy ). There were also plenty of vegetarian options. The venue does not serve alcohol although there’s a £2pp corkage fee you could use (although we didn’t need to). There are also lots of BDS-Compliant soft drinks including a special type of coke. Thoroughly recommended for large parties. I must also return in future for some shawarma (you can see these rotating as you come in).
Review 2018: Great range of Lebanese classics, friendly and helpful staff. Takeaway boxes provided if you can't finish the generous portions. Quirky decor.

The chicken Maqlooba was great - chicken tender and the rice well flavoured. I also think the shwarma is amazing. I wouldn't order the labne again but that might be because I compare it to all the labneh I had in Lebanon!

Poor atmosphere (no music), the service is terrible and no welcoming. It is expensive (services fees added and not mentioned). The food is not as tasty as I would expected. I went to back to Shakeshuka a good restaurent with good people.

Absolutely loved the food and the vibe. Gonna go back just to drink tea and chat.
I would suggest sitting upstairs, the heating aint the best downstairs hehe.

Waiter was confused by our order (for two people) and our mains came out over 30 mins apart.
One waiter was friendly and tried to sort it for us and told us only one order had been put through. Mistakes can happen, that could be understandable, but when we complained, the original waiter became very aggressive, started shouting at my husband and said it was our fault because we ordered a couple of minutes apart.
They put three mains on the bill even though we only had two and also tried to charge service charge after all that.
It’s a shame because we had visited once before and had been happy, and we want to support Palestinian businesses. But this was a very unpleasant experience we wouldn’t like to repeat.

The food was nice! Not amazing, but a decent choice in the area. Service however, was pretty disappointing. Got given some dirty cutlery and a used glass. Staff are friendly, but they got our order wrong. Atmosphere? It’s super super loud. Good black tea with mint.

Money well spent. I've been wanting to try this place for about a year now and finally got to go here with my brother.
I ordered a mix grill and it was delicious. The meat was tender and juicy. I enjoyed every bite of it.

Grill chicken wings perfectly grilled taste to perfection. Herb Chips full flavour crunchy very tasty. First time tried chicken Maqluba traditional Palestinian dish well cooked perfectly spice similar to biryani presented in unique style I have enjoyed definitely recommend people to try chicken Maqluba.
